Sunday’s Reggae 6 a pretty straightforward bet

SUNDAY's Reggae 6 doesn't appear as terrifying as Saturday's though similarly sporting two possible bankers, BIG JULE in the opener at five and a half and PAPA GRAY in the third at seven furlongs.

No more than three selections are required for the other four events, making Sunday's Reggae 6 far more affordable than Saturday.

BIG JULE is actually down in class on a $500,000 claim tag after being second-best behind speedy CATABA at six furlongs. CATABA ran solid fractions of approximately 12.0 seconds per furlong for the first half-mile, too quick to be caught.

THE REAL IDENTITY was fast catching runner-up MONEY BOX behind winner MEDAL AWARD at six and a half on May 24. Though the trip has been increased to seven furlongs, THE REAL IDENTITY tends to give away too much ground at the start, which could give MONEY BOX a chance to catch a second wind and steal away off the turn.

Also note WATERMAN JOHN's change of barn and equipment, blinders off, tongue-tie on, signalling a capital first-time effort from new connections out for a turnaround in form.

Outsprinted at six furlongs behind KISSMET, PAPA GRAY need only track TAPPININ before taking charge at seven and a half in the third. Beaten at seven by SIR WONG DON in his previous race, PAPA GRAY has banker written all over him though Barrington Dawes could have done better by retaining claiming-rider Eric Haughton.

MONSTER VIGOROUS, GLOBAL MACHINE and MILITARY LIGHT are the selections for the fourth, a spotty five-furlong round sprint for four-year-olds, non-winners of two races.

NATURAL DANCER, closers PRINCESS TALISE and WAYNE'S PRINCESS are the likely trio for the fifth at seven furlongs. NATURAL DANCER could use speed to dominate whereas PRINCESS TALISE and WAYNE'S PRINCESS will be closing late.

Jason DaCosta's debutante, PRIMO SUPREMA, clocked 47.3 for her first four furlongs, finishing in 1:03.4 out the straight course last Saturday, making her a must-carry in the Reggae 6 closer alongside ENTHUSIASTIC from rival Anthony Nunes' barn as peanuts separate the champion trainer from challenger in the stakes race.
