Police nab man allegedly dismantling stolen car in St Catherine
A 28-year-old man has been charged after a stolen car was found being dismantled in West Prospect, St Catherine.
Fabian Adams, otherwise called 'Pops', of West Prospect district in Bog Walk, has been charged with Simple Larceny, Receiving Stolen Property, and Malicious Destruction of Property.
Police say the charges stem from an incident that happened between June 29 and 30 in Vineyard Town, Kingston.
According to reports from the Elletson Road Police, around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, a man parked and securely locked his Toyota Probox motor car before going to bed. The next morning, around 5:00 a.m., he discovered the car was missing and made a report to the police.
Investigations led to a police operation in West Prospect around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, where three men were seen scrapping the missing car. The men ran when they saw the police, but Adams was caught after a chase.
He was taken into custody and officially charged on Tuesday, July 22.
His court date is being finalised.
