This woman called me stupid in public

June 05, 2025

Dear Pastor,

I am 22 years old and I have a girlfriend who is 24. I work at a certain business place and she is always doing business with the company, so I got to know her.

We used to talk very well and one day after she did her business and was about to leave, she asked me if I have a girlfriend. I told her that I had quite a few. She said "What? Oh, you are a bad boy", then I told her I was not a bad boy, I was only joking. She asked me for my number and I gave it to her, and that very night, she called me and told me that she has been admiring me. We talked for a long time and then she said we should meet. I told her that I am only off on weekends and I go to church on Sundays. When she found out my age, she told me I look much older, but age is just a number. We talked every evening. She was eager to find a boyfriend. She drove her own car and she started picking me up after work. She has a good job, a much better job than mine. We started to go out to have dinners and she paid.

But she was disrespectful to me. She would say anything that came to her mouth when she gets angry. One evening when we went out, she called me stupid in the presence of others, but then she apologised. She likes Chinese food, but I don't, so to her, I don't have any sense. The very first night we went out, she wanted me to sleep with her and I told her I was not prepared to do so. She said no man had ever turned her down. When she dropped me home that night, she said something very unpleasant to me, but I did not respond.

The following day, I told her that I do not want her to call me again and I blocked her number. I am wondering whether I did the right thing. I know I am not stupid, but at the same time, I am wondering if I appear to be stupid to her.

Dear O.E.,

You must be a very handsome guy why this woman fell in love with you. But you were smart enough not to allow this relationship to go further.

She doesn't have any respect for you. She shouldn't call you stupid or do things to embarrass you, especially in the presence of others. She is indeed looking for a man. Some guys would have been glad to go to bed with her on the very first date. You did the correct thing by walking away. I will not publish what she called you after you refused to go to bed with her.

You will find a woman who loves and respects you. You are still very young.
