Reunited with my Jamaican girl
Dear Pastor,
I am 41 years old and I live in America. I have been reading your column for many years while I lived in Jamaica.
When I moved to America, I continued to read the letters and your comments. I left a girl in Jamaica and I intended to go back and marry her. I got involved with a Puerto Rican. She was the hottest thing. I could not resist her, so I started to go with her. But I sent money to my Jamaican girlfriend occasionally.
When my Puerto Rican girlfriend realised that I was sending money to my girl in Jamaica, she threatened me so I had to back off. She told me that she was pregnant and that we should get married. But when the child was born, even the blind could see that it was not my child. She threw another man's child on me. I accepted the child, but my Jamaican friends laughed at me and told me I was a fool.
My situation in America was not stable, so I stayed with this woman for another year until I was stable. I used to work out of town and one day I came home to find a man on my woman. I could have got myself into serious trouble because the man was our neighbour. I did not know that he used to sleep with my woman until I caught them in the very act. I was speechless and then I figured it out. The child she gave to me was this man's child. The following day when I left for work, this woman moved out of the apartment and she has never returned. She packed up everything that she owned and left. I also found out that the man I caught her having sex with left with her.
I got my green card and went to Jamaica. By that time, my former girlfriend had two children. But the father of these children was not treating her well, so I married her and I have been married to her for 10 years. My Jamaican girl and and her children are with me in America. I have forgiven my Jamaican girl because she was not at fault. I was at fault for getting involved with the Puerto Rican girl. I now enjoy my rice and peas and curried goat and oxtail - real Jamaican food. This young woman is working and the children are doing well in school. We have bought a three-bedroom house.
I would say to all Jamaicans, stick with the evil that you know. No woman is sweeter than a Jamaican woman. I know that from experience. Big up to all Jamaican women.

Dear Writer,
I can imagine how your friends and relatives laughed at you after your so-called girlfriend got pregnant and gave birth to a child that did not resemble you, but you accepted as your child.
Everybody could see that the child was a jacket, but you were too blind to recognise that. You had a wonderful young woman in Jamaica, but your Puerto Rican woman caused you to break off the relationship with her while she was having a sexual relationship with your neighbour. I congratulate you for controlling yourself after catching this woman and the man in the act. You could have got yourself into serious trouble, but you didn't. This woman left on her own the following day.
You came back to Jamaica and married your former girlfriend. It has taken you a long while to realise that Jamaican women are wonderful and they make good wives. I am not saying that they are perfect; far from it. But they are good women. I wish you well. Take good care of your wife and the children.
