Rushell Clayton has become the latest Jamaican athlete to sign with Grand Slam Track for their inaugural professional track season in 2025.

The announcement was made yesterday on the Grand Slam Track Instagram page.

The Olympian and two-time World Championships bronze medallist will line up against tough competition in the 400m hurdles event.

At each respective Slam event, Clayton will line up against Americans Shamier Little, an Olympic gold medallist in the 4x400m in Paris and a two-time World Championships silver medallist in the 400m hurdles, and Olympian Jasmine Jones who has also won the NCAA indoor 60m and 400m hurdles titles.

Clayton, the second fastest Jamaican over the 400m hurdles, has clocked personal best times of 51.81 for 400m and 52.51 for the 400m hurdles during the 2024 season.

She has also won the event at Diamond League meets in Rabat and Oslo in 2024 and captured the 400m hurdles national title for the first time since 2019.

Clayton was fifth in the 400m hurdles Olympic Games final in Paris and pocketed World Championships bronze medals in the 400m hurdles in 2019 and 2023.

Fellow Jamaicans Ackera Nugent, Olympian and national 100m hurdles record holder, and Olympian Roshawn Clarke, the World Under-20 and national record holder in the 400m hurdles, are the other Jamaicans who have already signed to the venture being promoted by track legend Michael Johnson.
