Two more people have been charged in the assault case of an elderly woman involving Jamaica Labour Party supporter Lawrence Rowe.

Head of the Kingston Central Police Division, Superintendent Beresford Williams, confirmed that 40-year-old Winston Davis and 66-year-old Elver Barnaby were arrested and charged on Wednesday. This comes after Rowe was charged on July 18. All three were granted bail.

The charges stem from an altercation on July 12 near Simon Boulevard, close to National Heroes Circle.

Alligations are that Rowe pushed a 66-year-old woman during the incident, causing her to fall and injure her right knee. Rowe was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

Rowe, however, told police that he was attacked first. In his report, he said the woman threw water in his face and during one of her attempts, he pushed her hand away, causing her to fall. He also said that during the dispute, Davis grabbed his hand and scratched him, which caused bleeding.

All three are expected to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on July 31.

This is the second time Rowe has been charged in less than two months.

On June 2, he was charged with assault at common law after a viral video showed him confronting a man with a knife. Rowe was seen holding the knife behind his back and telling the man, "Do what you need fi do 'cause you bad." He was later granted station bail.

Rowe was previously the Pepole's National Party's standard-bearer for Kingston Central but left the party after being replaced by retired senior police officer Steve McGregor. He has since joined the JLP and spoke at a rally in the constituency last Sunday.
