‘Rasta’ charged after allegedly placing $3,000 in woman’s handbag, then raping her

Junior Simpson, otherwise called 'Rasta' has been charged with rape after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her home after placing $3000 in her handbag.
The 60-year-old labourer from Fairy Hill, Portland reportedly entered the woman's house on Friday, March 24, around 5:00 p.m., placed the money in her handbag, and demanded sex. When she refused, he allegedly pushed her onto a bed and raped her.
The matter was reported to the Port Antonio police and an investigation was launched.
Simpson was taken into custody on Thursday, July 17. He was charged on Tuesday, July 22, after being pointed out in an identification parade and reportedly giving a confession.
His court date is being finalised.
