Humble Lion are still without a win in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) after six games, after going down 4-3 to Dunbeholden at Effortville yesterday.

However, coach Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey is warning against panic and believes they will turn things around soon.

Despite going into the half-time break 3-0 down, the Clarendon-based team had only themselves to blame for not coming out with a result, as they wasted more than enough opportunities in the second half to take something from the game.

Goals from Nickoy Christian (17th), Dean-Andre Thomas (25th) and Orette Richard (37th) put the visitors 3-0 up at the break. Francois Swaby(51st) pulled one back early in the second half, but Greame Green's wonder strike restored Dunbeholden's three-goal advantage. Despite a Craig Foster strike and another from Swaby, the RSPL newbies held on for their second win of the season.

Bailey said poor finishing was their downfall on the day, but he also admitted that his team underestimated the opponent.

"(In) The first half, we came out flat. We didn't show up to play in the first half. I don't know if we looked at the fixture and saw Dunbeholden and decided that we didn't have to play in order to achieve a victory. But by the time we realised that Dunbeholden were a force to be reckoned with, it was too late," Bailey said.

TACTICAL ADJUSTMENT

"We made some tactical adjustments and it paid dividends. We got three goals, although we should have got eight. But Craig Foster got two (early chances second-half) in which if he had converted those, it would have changed the game completely. He should have had a hat-trick easy, easy," he said.

Although winless this season, Bailey said it was not time to panic as there is still time to get things right. "I am very disappointed because we have not won yet, especially playing at home. We don't win our first home game as yet and this is the sixth game of the season.

"Of course there is cause for concern but I don't think we need to press the panic button as yet. We have time to recover, we have time to be a force to be reckoned with. We have a good team and sometimes you have to have these results to get a wake-up call, and, hopefully, this will be a wake-up call," he said.

After going in at the break with the heads hanging, Humble Lion came out a different team in the second half and had their opponents against the ropes from the get-go. And even though they got three goals back, it was a case of not taking your chances, as the hosts missed opportunity after opportunity, and will have to look to their next game against Mount Pleasant for their first win.

Meanwhile, the Harbour View take on Mount Pleasant in the final game of the sixth round this evening at THE Harbour View Stadium at 8:30.

Proceeds from that game will go towards Luton Shelton's medical expenses. Members of the public can make contributions to an official Gofundme account that has been established for the striker, or his National Commercial Bank, local account, Oxford Road Branch, Account No. #214233150.
