BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CMC):

Barbados capped off a stellar campaign in the Rising Stars Men's Under-19 50-over Championship, defeating USA-1 by six wickets in a workmanlike performance in the final played at the Conaree Sports Club on Thursday.

It was sweet revenge for the Barbadians, who had earlier lost by a mammoth 216 runs to the previously unbeaten USA side, who showed true quality throughout the tournament.

Chasing a modest target of 213, Barbados cruised to 215-4 in just 38.2 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 55 from Joshua Dorne and valuable contributions from Shaquan Belle 45, Zachary Carter 34, and Micah Greenidge 32.

Openers Greenidge and Carter added 65 runs for the first wicket, before Greenidge and Belle weighed in with another 50-plus run second-wicket partnership.

Captain Dorne then got stuck in, and he and Joshua Branche, who made 29, added 84 runs for the fourth wicket, to virtually seal the contest.

Earlier, Barbados' bowlers had restricted USA-1 to 212 all out, with left-arm seamer Jakeem Pollard bagging 3-42 and Carter, also sending down his left-arm deliveries to claim 3-46.

Sahil Garg with 40, and Adnit Jhamb, 38, fought hard for the Americans, but their efforts proved insufficient.

WINDWARDS OVERPOWER JAMAICA

At St Mary's Park, the Windward Islands secured third place by overpowering Jamaica by 76 runs. Batting first, the Windwards posted 226, powered by half-centuries from Kirt Murray 62 and Stephan Pascal 60.

Jamaica's reply crumbled to 150 in 26.5 overs, with Theo Edward 3-27 and Cody Fontenelle 3-38 dismantling their batting order. Only Captain Brian Barnes, with 46, offered resistance.

In a low-scoring affair at St Paul's Sports Complex, Guyana chased down Trinidad & Tobago's modest 128-9 with five wickets in hand to secure fifth place.

Romeo Deonarine, 52 not out, anchored the chase after Riyad Latiff 3-20 and Parmeshwar Ram 2-18 had earlier stifled T&T's batting.

The Leeward Islands wrapped up the tournament with a 66-run win over USA-2 at Elquemedo Willett Park. Zavio Henry, 64, and Isra-el Morton, 47, propelled the Leewards to 211 before Morton returned to bag 5-27 and Matthew Miller 2-11, to help skittle USA-2 for 145.
