Obeah man scoffs at ‘end of days’ predictions
'The end is near' is something persons have been hearing a lot lately.
This has become even more prominent, especially since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic which has claimed thousands of lives. Multiple earthquakes and tremors have also been recorded across the globe recently.
Many believe this is the fulfilment of Revelation in the Bible, but Ronnie, an obeah man in Bog Walk, St Catherine, says 'Do not be fooled'.
"Most of the things now a nuh God. A man a do dem things deh, so a nuh end days yet. People a talk bout coronavirus ... dat a nuh nothing. Dem nuh know nothing. When we reach in a the real last days, we a go have worse disease and virus weh go kill nuff more people. Dem virus deh a go far more dangerous and more wicked dan COVID. We nuh reach last days yet," Ronnie told THE STAR. He said that he is certain of his position because God has not communicated with him about the end times as yet.
"From me a little boy me full a powers. Me help nuff people. Me help mad people, cripple people ... me a do this for over 50 years," he said. "From yuh have the gift, enuh, God will talk to yuh. I will know. God will send a messenger fi talk to yuh fi warn people and tell dem fi repent. And dat nuh happen yet."
Bamboozle people
Ronnie is adamant that religious leaders are preaching about 'end days' to bamboozle people into Christianity.
"The Christian people and pastors a put fear in a people. It no right. Dem always do it and make hundreds of people run go baptise and all now God nuh come. Just live good and have love, and take dutty ways out unuh heart and stop hurt people and wait pon God," he said. "Right now, some a dem (Christians) a war and a fight and a do the devil work .... dem betta fix up dem self."
He said that the recent events like murders and earthquakes "a normal things".
"Memba, when the time get hot, earthquake a go happen. But everything now, people a go seh a last days. Dem a seh 'God soon come', but God nuh tell nobody when him coming. Killings a gwane long time, pickney a dead long time. We no see nothing new yet," he said.
