Just months after 29-year-old Brad* had his heart shattered by his girlfriend's betrayal, she hit him with another bombshell. This time around, she was pregnant.

"Mi naah guh lie, when mi find out it cut me deep and mi and har did lef', but wi still did a duh things, and suh she end up pregnant," Brad explained.

But he had his doubts, even though his girlfriend, Zoey*, told him that she had stopped seeing the other man.

Haunted by suspicion, Brad decided to remain in the picture and do what he believed was the right thing. He stepped up as a father figure to the baby girl, now eight months old, giving both emotional and financial support.

"Mi always deh deh fi har and di baby. Mi buy diaper, clothes, anything dem need. But mi still did a wonder deep down if a really my child," he admitted.

Brad said he missed being present for the child's birth because he was working in another parish, trying to provide for the family. As a result, his name wasn't added to the baby's birth certificate at the hospital. He had planned to sort that out once he returned, but everything changed when he came across a troubling video.

"Mi see one video wid a man mi nuh know a rock di baby like a fi him pickney. And when mi ask har a who him be, she seh a just har fren. But mi nuh know di man, suh mi nuh understand how dis new friend just appear out a nowhere," Brad said.

Zoey, however, has remained adamant that Brad is the father.

"A him alone mi sleep wid when mi get pregnant," she said firmly.

"Di man inna di video a mi fren from long time. Mi and him never do nutten. Suh mi know seh the DNA test a guh seh him a har fadda."

For Brad, however, her words are of little comfort.

"Mi caah just believe seh a mine because she seh suh. Mi need proof," he insisted.

"Mi love har and mi love di baby, yes, but mi need to know."

"If she a mine, mi a guh put mi name pon di birth paper and sort dat out, but mi naah go live inna doubt," he insisted.

Still, Brad said no matter what the DNA results reveal, he is not planning to walk away entirely.

"Even if she a nuh mine, mi still a a guh kinda mek sure she alright; mi naah guh duh 100 per cent, but mi naah turn mi back pan har," he said.
