Daley looks to re-ignite career
Former youth football prodigy, Keammar 'Dada' Daley, says moving to UWI FC from Harbour View was the best thing he could have done, as he looks to reignite his career and rediscover his best form following a dramatic dip due largely to losing his joy and the death of a beloved aunt.
The 27-year-old was already experiencing a slump with Tivoli Gardens at the start of last season before he lost his aunt.
He spent the first half of this season at Harbour View, which he described as one of the most horrid and difficult times of his career.
He had already decided not to return at the turn of the year, when UWI came calling.
Daley revealed that his brother had a big hand in choosing UWI.
"(Harbour View) really wanted to use me to build back their programme but I am under too much mental pressure for people to be telling me do this and do that," he said.
Daley said he struggled at Harbour View because he was not allowed to play his game or given full opportunity because of the club's long term objectives.
"Then you also have spectators giving me a hard time that players have to defend me because they know I am not going to retaliate and disrespect any fan," he added.
Now, Daley seems to be happier.
"I feel happy. I have a smile on my face. It's like I am just waiting to explode. I tell coach I want to get on top form, score as many goals as possible, provide as many assists and just try to help the team offensively. That is my real goal right now and I am just going push on from here right into next season and keep the level up to where Keammar Daley use to be," he said.
