Young love revived

New Waterhouse head coach Paul Young said though his first time in charge of the club was brief, he had developed affection for the community and its players, which, he believes, will be beneficial in his second stint in charge of the Drewsland-based outfit.

Waterhouse are uncharacteristically struggling to avoid relegation this season.

"I really love this community. I love the players, the fan base is good, so I am working hard to improve the team," Young told STAR Sports following his team's 2-2 draw with Tivoli in his first game back in charge.

Young led the former champions for the first six months of 2009, a campaign they ended in sixth position. This season his mission is much different. he has been tasked with saving the team from relegation and put them on firm footing, preferably a top-six finish.

Though he has seen progress. Young said he has identified the main problems. The job is to get them fixed.

discipline

"It's a work in progress but the discipline has stepped up, (since arrival) for sure. we just need to organise, defensively, improve our concentration for the duration of the game and score our chances when we get them.

We scored two goals (against Tivoli), which is a good sign, but we also gave up two soft goals, so we have to concentrate for the 90 minutes.

We will try to win as many games and try to get as much points as we can, and I am looking forward to better things," he said.
