Williams back in front with double
WESTERN BUREAU:
Montego Bay United striker Dino Williams reclaimed the lead in the race for the Golden Boot, after scoring twice in his team's 2-0 win over western rivals Reno FC in Monday night's Red Stripe Premier League football match at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
Montego Bay's assistant coach, Dillon Thelwell, was thankful for the win.
"It was a very good game and three vital points for us, which takes us back in front," he noted.
The win also catapulted the former champions back to the top of the league, on 33 points, two ahead of Portmore United (31), with defending champions Arnett Gardens FC (29) and Humble Lion (28) completing the top four.
Reno ended the match with 10 players, after their captain, Rondell Morris, was sent off for butting Williams, as he retaliated to being bumped in the chest by the striker, in the 49th minute.
It was the second loss
for the men from Westmoreland in five days. The previous Thursday, Arnett Gardens recovered from a goal down and went on to win their match 2-1.
They remain sixth on 22 points and must now begin to log wins in order to stay clear of the relegation zone.
