Alleged serial robber caught
Charges of robbery with aggravation and possession of prohibited weapon have been laid against a Kingston man in relation to two incidents - one on Red Hills Road, on January 11, and another at a plaza on Constant Spring Road on June 13.
Charged is 30-year-old Nicholas Berry of Payne Avenue, Kingston 11. Reports from the Constant Spring police are that in the first instance, at 12:55 p.m., Berry and an accomplice, travelling in a motor car, came to a stop next to a man at a fast food restaurant. Berry reportedly alighted from the vehicle, brandished a firearm and robbed the man of his properties, before escaping in the waiting motor vehicle. In the second incident, Berry and an accomplice approached a man in a plaza at 10:55 a.m. Berry again brandished a firearm and robbed the man of his iPhone 15 Pro Max. His accomplice then robbed the man of $5,000. Both men escaped in the area.
A report was made to the police and an investigation launched. Berry was later apprehended by lawmen in an operation. He was taken into custody on July 5 and was formerly charged on Sunday. His alleged accomplice is still at large. His court date is being finalised.
