On Monday morning when Marvia Allison saw police tape and glimpsed what she believed were bodies in an open lot close to where she lived in Portmore, St Catherine, she called her sister.

Little did she know that she would soon be living her worst nightmare, as one of the bodies was her only daughter, Rahima Edwards, 19.

"I never know it was my child. I never knew so I went to Coronation Market and I remember calling Rahima's phone and not getting her but I knew she left her charger at home. When she didn't come home the night, I thought she was spending the night out because it was Valentine's Day," she said.

Edwards, a first-year business student at the University of Technology was found in an open lot near Dawkins Drive along with her boyfriend, 38-year-old Nicholas Neufville, jumps coach at Calabar High School.

Sitting on her verandah with other relatives, including Rahima's older brother Andre, Allison said they are in utter disbelief. They described Edwards as the life of the household. Allison said it was after she got to their business place in St Andrew that her sister gave her the devastating news.

"Crime scene whe mi pass"

"Mi sister tell mi say the crime scene whe mi pass belong to Rahima. Mi memba just fling whe di phone and I ran from the front to the back and I don't remember anything more. Mi can't believe I passed my baby laying down. I remember the Sunday she was in a good mood. She dressed in a black outfit and then she changed into a jeans skirt and a white top. I remember how she spin around and admire herself and she left the house minutes to four. The car was at the gate waiting for her," she said.

Allison said she had met Neufville before as he and her daughter had been together for more than a year. She said the family is heartbroken over rumours that have been surfacing about her personal life.

"My daughter did not have any other boyfriend and her best friends can testify to this. She was always on the phone with him. Is him alone she about. They have been together for over a year so it is not like how people make it seem like she was just a young girl who want a big man. My daughter was very independent," she said.

Andre added "My sister throw her little partner. She worked from Monday to Saturday an' if she worked on a Saturday, our father had to pay her, she was just all about business." Edwards also sold household products and had plans of expanding her business.

"She is someone I can depend on. She hardly have anytime for fun because for her it was all about school and the family's business. When it comes on to her chemical business she would keep every receipt and write down everything that she sell. Sometimes she would hide money and don't even remember. She wasn't short of anything," Allison said.
