Corporate Hands: Cops get 7 new motorcycles
On October 12, the National Road Safety Council, in association with the National Health Fund, donated four motorcycles, valued at $1 million, to the Jamaica Constabulary Force. CG Eagle Motorcycles Limited also donated three motorcycles.
The aim of these donations is to make the team from the Traffic Division more efficient in their fight to reduce road fatalities and increase road security across the island. The motorcycles were handed over at the office of the commissioner of police in St Andrew.
Twenty-three young savers with the JDF Credit Union Treasure Chest Youth Scholarship Awards Programme received bursaries amounting to $1 million at a recent presentation ceremony at the credit union offices at Up Park Camp.
The programme, which was launched in 2007, was set up to reward young savers who show outstanding performance in the primary and secondary schools exit examinations and needy children of members of the JDF Credit Union to advance their education. To date, 180 students have benefited.
