Man accused of rape slapped with additional robbery charges
A 28-year-old man already facing serious charges, including rape, is now accused of multiple St Thomas robberies committed between May 10 and 30.
He is Michael Thomas of Thompson Town district, Mocho in Clarendon.
The Clarendon police have laid the charges of robbery with aggravation (3 counts), being in possession of prohibited weapon (3 counts), using prohibited weapon to commit a felon (3 counts), assault at common law.
The May Pen police say that Thomas, armed with a firearm made stops at several businesses within the parish where he proceeded to allegedly rob them of cash and other valuables.
Following reports, he was apprehended by the cops on June 10 after which he was positively identified.
Thomas was previously charged with rape, robbery with aggravation and possession of a prohibited weapon in relation to previous incidents.
He is set to appear before the May Pen parish court on Monday.
