Savour drops video for ‘Blackboard’
One of the most talked-about releases of the summer just got a visual upgrade.
Rising dancehall artiste Savour released the music video for his single Blackboard, a playful, vibrant, and unapologetically Jamaican take on the complexities of modern love, last Friday. Shot in the heart of Ocho Rios, St Ann, Savour's hometown, and the perfect backdrop for sun-soaked vibes, the video captures the song's cheeky narrative with colourful scenes, gorgeous island women, and a touch of real-life drama that everyone can relate to.
Directed by Robin Chin of Enhanced Realizm and co-directed by visual newcomer Adrian Kitchin, the production blends humour, summery, and high-energy moments into a visual that feels both fresh and classic.
"It's all about fun and truth," said Savour. "I wanted to give fans something they can laugh with, dance to, and say, 'Yow, a real thing dat.' The vibes are up, the energy is real, and this video is me just keeping it 100."
Paying subtle homage to Beenie Man's iconic Blackboard, Savour even sneaks in a few vintage moves, adding another layer of nostalgia for those who remember dancehall's golden age, all while pushing his own style to the forefront.
