Mozein set to shine at Live and Direc 2025

June 20, 2025

Teenage vocalist Mozein Sutherland is about to make his professional debut on a stage that many only dream of.

The 19-year-old singer is set to grace the stage alongside legends Brian McKnight and Dru Hill at Live and Direc, set for June 28 at Constant Spring Golf Club in St Andrew.

Sutherland, who unearthed his vocal gift at age six and honed it through years of dedication, skyrocketted into the national spotlight when he captured hearts and votes to win Digicel Rising Stars in 2022, at just 17.

"Digicel Rising Stars opened doors of opportunities for me. It brought me to places I never would have been able to go without being the Digicel Rising Star, and it also gave me countless chances to do what I love in front of thousands of people. Digicel Rising Stars solidified my hopes of becoming a top reggae artiste from Jamaica."

Young Sutherland now has the opportunity to leave his name on the tongues of music lovers. He admits being floored when he got the call to join the Live and Direc line-up.

"Honestly, I never in my life imagined this would happen so soon. When I first heard the news, I was in total disbelief, because prior to being approached by the organisers, I was saying that I was going to go to the show as a patron to enjoy some good music," he said with a laugh.

Now, instead of watching from the crowd, he'll be commanding it.

Sutherland promises a high-energy set that will have fans singing along and dancing -- though he's keeping the exact plans under wraps. "A surprise is a surprise," he said.
