Court frees truck driver accused of stealing employer’s goods
A St Catherine truck driver accused of stealing goods worth over $335,000 from his employer was freed after the Crown offered no evidence in court on Tuesday.
Andrew Amos, 47, was charged with larceny as a servant.
The Clerk of Court agreed with the defence that the case would be difficult to prove, and Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle ruled that Amos had no case to answer.
The case arose from incidents between January 28 and February 28, 2025, when Amos allegedly failed to deliver goods to customers and gave no satisfactory explanation for the missing items.
Police investigated and charged him.
Amos, who maintained his innocence throughout, was represented by Attorneys-at-Law Shelldon Campbell and Abina Morris.
