A court date is being finalised for 44-year-old carpenter Dwayne Forbes, otherwise called 'Creg', who has been charged with the July 19 shooting death of 29-year-old Neco Cole in Kingston 11.

Forbes, of Little King Street, Kingston 14, is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 5:20 a.m., Forbes was among men who allegedly went to Cole's home on Christopher Road and told him to open the door. Upon entering, the men reportedly opened gunfire, hitting Cole in the upper body before escaping.

The police were called, and Cole was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Forbes later turned himself in to the police and was formally charged following a question-and-answer session and a witness statement implicating him.
