Two men, who were held with nearly 500 pounds of ganja, were fined more than $1,000,000 or six months imprisonment.ÌýThey are 46-year-old Gary Edwards and 39-year-old Evol Taylor both of Manchester.

Edwards was sentenced to $15,000 or six months imprisonment for possession of 602 pounds of ganja. He was also sentenced to $1 million or six months imprisonment for dealing in ganja.

Taylor was sentenced to $15,000 or six months imprisonment and 12 months imprisonment for possession of 483 pounds of ganja. He was also sentenced to $1 million or six months imprisonment for dealing in ganja.

The sentences are to run concurrently if the fines are not paid.

Both men were arrested after the quantities of ganja were found during an operation by the police at two beaches in Hellshire, St. Catherine on May 4.
