Cooking oil goes missing from church - Pastor prays for thieves
Reverend Sean Major-Campbell, pastor of the Christ Church in Vineyard Town, Kingston, is praying for a set of burglars who ransacked his church last Tuesday.
The pastor told THE WEEKEND STAR that last Wednesday, when he went to the church, he discovered that items were missing.
鈥淭hey took the PA system, computers, printer, toiletries, a big jug of oil and other cooking stuff,鈥 he said.
With no clue who might have stolen from the church, Campbell is hoping that a prayer on the church鈥檚 bulletin board will be effective.
No crime is hidden
鈥淕racious God from whom no crime is hidden, you know those who have wronged us. We pray that you would help them to become better persons,鈥 it read.
Campbell said that the robbery has greatly impacted the church鈥檚 outreach programmes.
鈥淓very Saturday, we do a Y-COP, that is a Youth and the Community Outreach Programme, and many of these children come from challenged communities, so we make sure that they have a good home- cooked meal before they go back home. And those stuff would have been stolen,鈥 he said.
鈥淚t really has caused another undue stress. The church has a lot of expenses. We do a lot of outreach, and we respond to a lot of emergencies, so it has really put a stress on our expenses.鈥
The robbery has since been reported to the Vineyard Town police, but the cops say they have no leads at the moment.
