BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CMC):

Jamaica eeked out a five-run victory at Conaree Sports Club in a pulsating finish to leave Guyana winless after three rounds of matches in the Rising Stars Men's Under-19 50-over Championships. It was Jamaica's first win in three matches.

After electing to bat first, Jamaica's lower order made significant contributions before they were eventually bowled out for 260 with three balls left in the innings.

Brian Barnes made a whirlwind 68 off 47 balls with six sixes and two fours batting at number three, but Jamaica owed their total to the efforts of Pajay Nelson and Vitel Lawes, who scored 40 and 42 not out, respectively, batting at eight and nine.

Golcharran Chulai took 2-43 and Parmeshwar Ram 2-59 for Guyana.

Guyana got off to a bright start with openers Romeo Deonarine, who scored 55 from 71 balls and Rampersaud Ramnauth, who made 39, adding 83 runs for the first wicket.

Sachin Balgobin then made 32, as Guyana were cruising at one point at 130 for one.

But Kev'Aundre Virgo (4-37) and Brian Barnes (2-35) made timely breakthroughs to see Guyana fall agonisingly short of their target, being dismissed for 255.

Meanwhile, Barbados continued their dominant run in the competition by thumping the Leeward Islands by eight wickets.

At St Paul's Sports Complex: Barbados romped to a comfortable victory over the Leeward Islands courtesy of a solid performance with both bat and ball.

Damani Roach and Raphael Lovell grabbed three wickets apiece as the Leeward Islands were dismissed for just 154 in 34. overs.

Micah Greenidge then raced to a half century, while captain Joshua Dorne continued his impressive scoring run with an unbeaten 42, as Barbados easily overhauled their target, finishing on 154 for two in 25.3 overs.

After being sent in to bat, only opener Kunal Tilokani, who topscored with 37 and Matthew Miller, who made 31, made any meaningful contributions against a disciplined Barbados bowling attack.

Lovell ended with 3-18 and Roach took 3-33, while left-arm spinner Zachary Carter chipped in with 2-31.

Opener Greenidge then belted 85 from only 74 balls with 10 fours and two sixes, as Barbados scored at over six runs an over.

He shared a 113-run partnership with Dorne, before falling with 13 runs required for victory.

At St Mary's Park: USA-1 defeated Trinidad and Tobago by 93 runs.

USA-1 300-8 in 50 overs; Trinidad & Tobago 207 in 42.1 overs.

At Elquemedo Willett Park: The match between Windward Islands and USA-2 ended in a no result.

Windward Islands 96-4 in 24 overs.
