Man charged for illegal firearm

The Anchovy Police seized one Smith & Wesson .38 revolver and six rounds of ammunition during an operation in Roehampton, St James, on Sunday.

One man was taken into custody in connection with the seizure.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Ricardo Clayton, a Farmer of Normandy district, St James, who has since been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that about 9:20 a.m., a team of officers conducted an operation in the community when they stopped and searched a vehicle.

The police asked the driver to exit the vehicle and when he did, they observed a bulge in his waist.

A search was conducted and the firearm and ammunition seized.
