Armed with undeniable talent and a growing catalogue of bangers such as When Me Nice and Asset, many believe that dancehall artiste Kyodi should be much further up in the genre's hierarchy. His lyrical prowess, unique sound, and stage presence have already earned him respect, but the Kingston-born artiste is taking things in strides.

"Time is the master," he said.

"I am grateful for the level I have reached thus far, and I am putting in the work to grow my audience globally," he said.

The artiste, whose given name is Kyodi Green, made waves with his breakout hit When Me Nice, and has since followed up with tracks like Asset and Conspiracy, a collaboration with Jahmiel. He has also worked with other artistes such as Shane O and Valiant.

Kyodi has no doubt about his talent. In fact, his attitude has been one of continuous work until his big break comes.

Kyodi shared a memorable compliment he received from a respected figure in music, which, he said, serves as an inspiration to work even harder.

"An elder in music listened to my album and said, 'Yute, yuh a di baddest artiste me hear in about 20 years,' and cold bumps cover me same time. Me feel good inna miself fi know seh people with musical experience a give me dem level of ratings deh," he said.

Currently, Kyodi is locked in studio sessions with several top-tier producers, including Markus Records and Mappy NSG, as he continues his quest to grow his brand and expand his global reach.
