Dancehall star Teejay has pointed what he sees as a major void in the current music scene - a lack of sultry, feel-good tracks that truly get women moving.

In a recent sit-down with East London-based media outlet WorlMag, the Drift hitmaker lamented the decline of dancehall tracks that capture emotion, sensuality, and raw female energy on the dance floor.

According to Teejay, the last real wave of "bedroom songs that yuh can hol a vibe to" came five to eight years ago.

He credited himself, along with others like Dexta Daps, Vybz Kartel, and Popcaan, for releasing songs that connected emotionally and physically with listeners, especially the ladies.

These days, he says, those kinds are songs are missing from the space.

"Nuh gyal song nuh deh again," the Up Top Boss artiste said.

He said this days, women in the dancehall space are not whining as much but are engaging in choreographed routines that do not show off their feminine beauty.

"We can't get fi see female a enjoy demself," he said. "Not even the sex appeal of a woman you caah get fi standup inna a party and seh, 'wow'!"
