Boom Dandimite Foundation brings joy to kids
Daughters of late dancehall artiste Boom Dandimite are making sure that his legacy lives on.
Danefae and Dashenel Stewart recently put on a treat at Seaview Gardens Seventh-day Adventist Basic School under the umbrella of their foundation, Project BoomDandimite. The artiste's given name is Donovan Stewart.
"The main idea of the Project BoomDandimite Foundation is to support lives through acts of kindness, honouring the legacy of Boom Dandimite - not only as a dancehall pioneer but also as a generous and caring individual," said Danefae. "The foundation serves as a living tribute to his intrinsic value by spreading kindness locally and globally."
The foundation catered to 132 students at the school, providing support that aligns with the mission of the foundation to "uplift lives through acts of kindness". Boom Dandimite, given name Herman Donovan Stewart, died in the US in 2023 after being hospitalised following a crash in Jamaica. He was well known for his energetic and charismatic performances. Although his time in the spotlight was cut short, Boom Dandimite's legacy lives on through his music. His songs continue to bring joy and excitement to fans, and his influence can be seen in the work of other artistes.
