Melbourne Cricket Club batsman Jose Northover was one of three centurions during the Melbourne CC vs St Catherine CC Michael Holding Senior Cup cricket match this past weekend.

The stage is set for an exciting showdown in the 2025 Jamaica Cricket Association Michael Holding Senior Cup, sponsored by the Stewart's Automotive Group, as the quarter-final matchups and venues have been confirmed following the final set of group games which culminated on Sunday.

The knockout stage, scheduled for May 10-11, promises some thrilling clashes as the top teams battle for a spot in the semi-finals.

Leading that charge is central outfit and Zone C winners St Mary Cricket Association, who wrapped up their perfect preliminary round with their fourth victory of the campaign, when they got the better of St Ann by 10 wickets at Jack's River.

St Mary will square off with Zone F winners St Catherine Cricket Club at Boscobel, this after the Saints pipped Melbourne Cricket Club to group honours by virtue of a better run rate, after the teams had tied with 22 points.

St Catherine CC leapt to the top after they secured first innings honours in their drawn game against Melbourne at Derrymore Road.

In that game, three centuries were scored with Jose Northover and Renalda Ingram scoring centuries for Melbourne, and Marlon Williams also getting three figures for St Catherine CC.

Matthew Comrie of Melbourne was one of the best bowlers, bagging five wickets in St Catherine's first innings.

Rural outfit Trelawny Cricket Association also had four wins and one draw, to top Zone B, and they will square off with Zone A winners Clarendon Cricket Association at Jamalco Sports Club.

Trelawny secured their fourth win when they brushed aside Westmoreland Cricket Association by an innings and 87 runs at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium.

Westmoreland managed only 89 for nine, and 55 for nine in two innings, with Osburn Palmer picking up nine wickets in the match. Howard Palmer hit 101 for Trelawny in their total of 231 for four declared.

Clarendon will also enter that quarter-final clash in good form, as they brushed aside Manchester by 10 wickets.

In other quarter-final action, Zone D winners and defending champions Kingston Cricket Club will face Melbourne at Sabina Park, while Zone E winners Kensington will do battle with the Jamaica Defence Force at Kensington.

The winners of these quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals, set for May 24-25, with the grand final scheduled for June 7-8.
