More trouble for murder accused
A 27-year-old Manchester man, who was out on bail for murder, was last week arrested and charged with several serious offences -- including another murder related to a separate case.
Nicholas Knight, also known as Biggs, from Royal Flat district in Manchester, had been granted bail after being charged with the 2024 murder of Omar Powell, a 35-year-old businessman from Melrose Gardens.
Powell was fatally shot during a robbery on July 10, 2024. Knight was arrested last week after turning up at the Darling Street Police Station in Kingston to report, as per the condition of his bail.
Knight was subsequently slapped with several charges including murder, conspiracy to murder, unauthorised possession of ammunition and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Knight made his first court appearance on Wednesday in the Manchester Parish Court, where he was remanded.
He is being represented by attorney-at-law Norman Godfrey.
