Carpenter charged for 2023 chopping incident

A Westmoreland carpenter has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident in his community on September 23, 2023.
He has been identified as 33-year-old Kerick Green, otherwise known as 'Mega' of Big Bridge, Savanna-la-Mar. Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that at 1 p.m., Green retrieved a machete and used it to inflict chop wounds to a man with whom he had an argument. After the chopping, he fled the scene, and the injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated. A report was made following the incident, and an investigation was launched into the matter.
Green was charged with the aforementioned offence on Wednesday, while in custody in relation to a separate incident.
He is scheduled to appear in the parish court next Tuesday.
