With his daughter's first birthday today (June 20), Jahveel Williams had plans of putting a smile on her face by gifting her a tablet.

A photo shoot and other little surprises would also be a part of the package. But Williams' plans have withered away as the 24-year old Portmore, St Catherine resident has disappeared without a trace. Abigale Reynolds, his babymother, is pleading with the public for assistance in locating him.

"Jahveel is a very, very caring father. He has two children and he takes really great care of them. He is my daughter's father and he always does what he needs to. His son's birthday was earlier this month and he wouldn't miss that for anything. I am asking the public to just help us to bring him home. I don't know what to tell my daughter, and I don't want to have to tell her a sad story eventually that her daddy is never going to come home," she said.

According to police reports, Williams was last seen on Port Henderson Road (more popularly known as 'Back Road') on May 19 dressed in a white T-shirt, orange sweat pants and a pair of black pants. He is of dark complexion, medium build, and about 150 centimetres tall.

Reynolds, who lives in Spanish Town, said she last spoke to Williams on the day he disappeared and was shocked when she received a call from his mother that he was missing.

"We kept calling his phone and we nah get him, and then we went to the police, but they said we should wait 24 hours. She gave them a photograph and the police went around the cell to see if he was there because someone was around there with a name sounding like his, but it wasn't his," she said.

Reynolds said she was told by one of Williams' friends that they went to Back Road for a "joyride" on May 19.

"Him tell Jahveel say him ready because him not feeling well, but him tell him say him must gwan because him a chill with some a him St Thomas friend dem," she said. Reynolds said a search team later found Williams' shirt on a rock beside a broken beer bottle. While she is praying for the best, thoughts of the worst have been going through her mind.

"It has been very hard and depressing since he went missing. We are stressed and we can hardly sleep at nights. I know something is wrong and I just cannot pinpoint if he is dead or alive. I am just hoping and praying that he is alive, although a part of me feel like he could be dead. Jahveel wouldn't just leave his kids like that, he would move mountains for them," Reynolds said.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Jahveel Williams is being asked to contact the Greater Portmore Police Station at 876-989-8422 or the nearest police station.
