Relatives of 20-year-old Akeem Wray have been left puzzled and worried after he went missing last Friday.

According to a relative, Wray and his younger brother were at their Bethany, St Ann, home about 9 a.m.

"He left and told his brother he was going down the road to pick up something," the relative told THE STAR. "The brother was there for a while and realised he wasn't back so he started to call him and he heard nothing and he went down the road to look and didn't see him. That's when he called me and I tried to call him; it went straight to voice mail. I then WhatsApp him a text and up to now it has only one tick and he always has data on his phone."

A very quiet person

The relative said she believes Akeem did not plan to be away for long as he had left the gate open with the keys on the wall. He also had an online exam at 1 p.m. She said Wray, a University of Technology finance major, is a very quiet person who spends much of his time studying and doing schoolwork. She said that the past few days have been devastating for the family, as all efforts to locate Wray have failed.

"No call, no text, nothing is going through. It has been very hard not seeing him because we are a close-knit family. We spend a lot time together, we sit and eat and we are always playful," she said. Wray is of brown complexion and is approximately 175 centimetres (5 feet, 9 inches) tall. He was last seen wearing burgundy shorts, a dark grey T-shirt with two red sleeves.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Akeem Wray or has any information on his disappearance is being asked to contact the Alexandria police at (876) 975-1016.
