Osujah Records releases new rhythm compilation

July 01, 2025

Osujah Records CEO Donna Burnett is very proud of her latest rhythm compilation, Life A Di Greatest, which features contributions from a host of well-known reggae artistes.

The compilation features contributions from artistes such as Luciano, Elsa Green from Black Uhuru, Nature Ellis, Gaza Kim, and Lady Donna, who delivers the title track.

"There has been a very positive feedback on the project from music critics and the fans. I have received the response of a lifting of the spirits from some, as well as a connecting of the music with the soul," Burnett said. Music critics say that the standout tracks so far are Gaza Kim's Gonna Be a Good Day, the title track, and Luciano's All We Need is Love.

"The inspiration for this project came from my observation of the disregard for, and the apathy toward, life. This is evidenced by the high numbers of killings, deforestation, wars, destruction etc, coupled with the promotion of the artificial or man-made, as opposed to the natural," Burnett said.

The name Osujah came from the Hebrew name Oshea in the Bible which means 'help'. Oshea, son of Nun, was changed by Moses to Yehoshua, meaning 'help of Yahweh', with the English translation being Joshua. That name, scrambled, produced Osujah which can be interpreted 'divine help', Burnett explained.

"My biggest challenge as a producer is bringing the vision to life which requires the right balance between the artiste and resources," she said.
