Goule produces world leading 600m time

National 800m record holder Natoya Goule hit top form at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Street meeting in Boston, Massachusetts yesterday. She produced a world leading 1:24.00 minute to win the Women's 600m event.

Goule, who has been playing second fiddle to the United States of America's (USA) Ajee Wilson on a regular basis in the 800m, got the better of her opponent who clocked 1:25.007 minutes for second as Allie Wilson, another American, finished third in 1:25.220 minutes. Jamaica's Jasmine Fray ended fourth in 1:26.255 minutes.

Shian Salmon, who normally competes in the 400m hurdles, also had a win at the meet. Competing in the 200m hurdles, she won the event in 24.86 seconds, getting the better of the USA's Shamier Little, who was second in 24.91s. Ronda Whyte was third in 25.71s.

Former Hydel High School athlete Ashanti Moore had a second place finish in the women's "B" 100m race with a time of 11.18s, behind the USA's Kiara Parker, who won in 11.07s.

World Athletics Championships 100m hurdles bronze medallist Danielle Williams was fourth in 12.92s in the women's 100m hurdles. USA's Keni Harrison won in 12.49s.

Yohan Blake had a second a second place finish at the meet as he clocked 14.94s in the men's 150m as Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards won in 14.75s.

Making a return to competitive action after a lengthy lay off, Nickel Ashmeade had a third place finish in the men's 100m after clocking 10.17 seconds. USA's Isiah Young clocked 9.94s for the win, ahead of compatriot, Noah Lyles, who was second in 10.10s.
