Police charge construction worker in South Sea Park break-in

A man was charged on Tuesday for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars and a watch valued at USD $200 from a woman's house in South Sea Park, Whitehouse, Westmoreland.

Thirty-one-year-old construction worker Romario Stewart, otherwise known as 'Blacks' and 'Dane', of the community, is charged with house breaking and larceny.

The Whitehouse police reported that at 6:30 p.m. on July 7, a woman securely locked her house and left.

Stewart was allegedly seen leaving the woman's house at about 9:15 p.m., The homeowner and police were notified.

She returned home and discovered that the house had been broken into and ransacked.

Further checks revealed that USD $4,700, JMD $150,000, and a watch valued at USD $200 were reportedly missing.

An eyewitness statement implicated Stewart in the commission of the crime, and he was taken into custody during an operation at his house on Sunday, July 13.

He was formally charged on July 17.

His court date is currently being finalised.
