Man jailed for sex crimes against daughter and stepdaughter
A former taxi operator from St Catherine has been sentenced to 33 years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences committed against his daughter and stepdaughter over a nearly two-year period.
The 46-year-old was sentenced on Monday, July 15, 2025, in the Home Circuit Court by Justice Bertram Morrison. He had pleaded guilty on February 14, in the St Catherine Circuit Court.
The man was convicted charges of years for rape, grievous sexual assault, sexual intercourse with a person under 16, 15 years trafficking person, 10 years child pornography, 10 years incest and three years for assault occasioning bodily harm,.
Although multiple sentences were imposed, they are to run concurrently. This means the longest sentence will be served, resulting in a total of 33 years and eight months behind bars.
According to court documents, between January 2022 and December 2023, the man repeatedly forced both complainants to perform sexual acts.
The matter came to light in February 2024, when a report was made and an investigation was launched by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
The accused was arrested and later charged following the investigation.
