The St Andrew South police have arrested two men in connection to seizure of a prohibited weapon following an intelligence led operation on Rushworth Avenue, Olympic Gardens in the parish on Tuesday.

The weapon seized was a 9mm Smith & Wesson Spring Field pistol with a magazine affixed.

Reports from the Olympic Garden police are that at 2:50 p.m., the team carried out a search of a premises occupied by the men where the gun was allegedly found in one of the bedrooms.

The men were arrested and taken into custody.

There identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
