Manchester man facing gun charges

Detectives assigned to the Manchester Police Division have charged 39-year-old Caino Saunders, of Mike Town district, Primento Hill, with gun and ammunition charges following a shooting incident on Mike Town main road, Mandeville, on June 28.

Saunders has been charged with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition. Reports from the Mandeville police are that at 11 p.m., Saunders and a man had a dispute during which the accused threatened the man and left. Later that day, Saunders returned armed with a firearm and opened gunfire at the man, who ran to escape injury.

A report was made to the police, and Saunders was apprehended on Sunday. He was later charged on Tuesday after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date is being finalised.
