Pauline Lewis has not seen her brother, Lenson Lewis, in more than 20 years. The last time she saw him was in 2003, in their home town of Nain, St Elizabeth. That was the year their mother, Ina Clark, died.

Pauline, who says she is currently doing missionary work in Mexico, said Lenson, 64, left St Elizabeth for Ocho Rios, St Ann, to work in the tourism sector. Their paths have not crossed since.

"My family was very poor and my brother left home because we didn't have much money," Pauline said, adding that it has been difficult for her to cope with not knowing where her brother is, or if he is alive.

Expressing her difficulty coping with the unknown, she yearns to learn about her brother's fate. She emphasises the urgency of the situation as Lenson grows older, stating, "I just want to see him if I can find him, if he's alive somewhere, because he's getting older now, and there's not much time left."

Pauline, 62, said Lenson was her best friend and playmate when growing up in their family of 12 siblings. She has no photograph of him, stating that they did not take any while growing up.

"To me, he was my protector ... my brother and I, we got along very well, you know. I was two years younger than him, and he's the one who took care of me and protected me," Pauline said.

She told THE WEEKEND STAR that no one in Nain, including her sister who still lives at their childhood house, knows of Lenson's whereabouts. However, despite the uncertainty, Pauline said she will not stop searching for him.

"I have always been thinking about my brother; every time I talk to somebody, I ask for him," Pauline said as she appealed for help to reconnect with him.
