The Manchester police are searching for the unknown assailants responsible for the shooting death of a 30-year-old resident in the parish last night.

Dead is Garnet Morant, a Mason of Harmonds district in Manchester.

Reports are that about 9:25 p.m., Morant was allegedly pounced upon by the assailants near a shop in the community.

He was then shot and injured.

He was assisted to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police have not established a motive in Morant's murder.

The Porus Criminal Investigation Branch is conducting a probe in the matter.
