Sumfest Reloaded - Bogdanovich promises most electrifying experience yet
Reggae Sumfest 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable explosion of culture, unity, and pure musical magic, with an "elevated" seven-day experience that's set to light up Montego Bay, St James from July 13 to 19.
In an exclusive interview with THE STAR, festival boss Joe Bogdanovich exuded calm confidence, declaring that the team is locked in and ready to deliver their best staging yet.
"I feel good. I feel like we got it all together, we're just waiting for three weeks to come because we all have a little tight unit and we're all in order and that's a nice feeling to have. We're not supposed to be running up and down like chicken with our heads fall off - we're cool, we're ready," Bogdanovich said.
He said that with every edition of Reggae Sumfest, the bar rises, and this year will be no different.
"It's all about experience, it's really about unity through music and we wanna get down to it with this year's festival [with] seven days of entertainment. It's gonna be exciting because we have a great line-up and great unmissable pre-events that we're working hard to give a lot of dynamics to each and every one. It keeps getting better and easier to do because there's just always a lot of excitement," he added.
Reggae Sumfest 2025 kicks off with a Family Funday event on July 13, followed by a free street dance on July 14. On July 15, things get upscale with a glamorous All-White Night of Luxe Delights under the Stars, celebrating vibes from the '80s to early 2000s. Then it's lights out and fashion on for a seductive, high-energy Blackout Night on July 16, featuring powerhouse performances from Stalk Ashley and Valiant.
Global Fete drops on July 17, a bold new addition aimed at igniting the Caribbean spirit. With a sound clash and thrilling performances from Moliy, Yung Bredda, and Marcy Chin, it's already the top-selling pre-event.
The two festival nights will be on July 18 and 19, and will feature an extensive line-up of top acts.
Among the artistes set for Festival Night 1 are Vybz Kartel, Masicka, Tommy Lee Sparta, Skeng, Govana and Shaniel Muir.
The electric cultural blend of Festival Night 2 will feature the likes of international R&B/soul singer, Toni Braxton, as well as reggae stalwarts I Wayne, Protoje, Lika Ike and Bugle.
