Fans globally are encouraged to "go hard for whatever they want" despite the odds, in a culturally blended fusion of three of dancehall/reggae's greatest vocalists - Baby Cham, Stephen Marley and Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley - through their latest inspirational single titled ' Hustling In My Blood'.

Cham told THE STAR that the song was inspired by the drive and determined spirit of his mom and real 'go-getters' worldwide, especially Jamaicans, who are dubbed as 'bawn (born) hustlers'.

"I've grown and have seen my mother do two jobs at the garment factory, plus sell peanut, grater cake, drops. So hustling is naturally in Jamaicans' blood. I guess it's because life is hard growing up in Jamaica and when you make it out, you never get too comfortable, or when you see some form of light you press a little bit harder because you never want to go back to that. That's basically where I got the inspiration. Mama Jenny for sure is my inspiration, my champion - two jobs, no dad was around at the time, she was the best dressmaker ever!" he said.

The Ghetto Story artiste said since the song was released last Friday, accompanied by its visuals, the reaction has been "great". Hustling In My Blood has amassed approximately 90,000 views and more than 7,000 likes on YouTube and debuted at No. 7 on the iTunes Reggae Chart.

"[It's also] now my top song on iTunes, but aside from the charts, just the fan feedback/comments across the platforms has been positive. Even on my flight, someone came to me and said the vibe of the song and the unity it brings to dancehall and reggae culture is good to see. The positivity of the song [makes] it a powerful song - Ragga (Stephen) Marley [and] Damian Marley delivered," he said. Cham noted that the FaNaTiX produced single was first conceptualised from an "idea and vibe" he got from a rhythm he received from American rapper/producer Swizz Beatz.

Cham, who is known for music that often reflects his life stories, said this new single was timely to infiltrate today's musical space and the minds of music consumers.

"With dancehall, you're going to have the lewd lyrics, the 'bruck out' songs, but there's a time and place for everything. Sometimes you have to tap into those inspirational/powerful songs with the substance we need. We'll never bash anyone's form of creativity/content and everyone deserves the room to express their artistry. Hustling In My Blood resonates deep within myself because a lot of people need that right now - that fight, that 'never say die' spirit and that's what we want this song to do," said Cham.

He said it was a "blessing and honour" working with the Marley brothers who added their special punch to drive home the song's message.

"I don't just consider them musical colleagues, those are my brothers. We're close. To me Stephen is 'my baller' and Damian is 'my niggi/brother,' so to have both on the track is an honour. It wasn't even planned, we always hang out all the time, play football, or at the studio together and it just came together how it was supposed to. We're going on the road for a few dates this summer and that's when it's going to really get fun, bringing the song to the world city by city," shared Cham.

Hustling In My Blood is a single from Cham's upcoming album - Sherlock. He said fans can expect a strong musical vibration from the project.

"This project takes you back to the beginning. It takes me back to the grassroot [and] it has something for everyone - from the hustlers, to the lovers, to the ones that want to party, and I'll never forget something for the ladies. It's fun, it's inspirational, it's a vibe, it's Sherlock!" said Cham.
