KQualiti aims to be among Red Hills Road greats

July 14, 2025

Over the years, the Red Hills Road area of St Andrew, which includes communities such as Park Lane and Hundred Lane, has produced a plethora of dancehall and reggae stars.

The long list of popular artistes includes the likes of Buju Banton, Sanchez, Flourgon, Red Dragon, Daddy Lizard and Fabby Dolly. Fast-rising dancehall artiste KQualiti is eager to add his name to the list of stars who hail from that part of the Corporate Area.

"It is widely known that Red Hills Road has a rich musical history. I'm from Park Lane, the same community where Flourgon, Sanchez, Red Dragon, Daddy Lizard and Fabby Dolly are from. I grew up in a community full of stars. I was always surrounded by music and people involved in the music industry. So, choosing a career in the music biz was an easy choice for me," said the artiste.

The talented singjay, who is a past student of Pembroke Hall High School, is currently promoting his new single titled Van Persii. Produced by StackzNBrixxx Entertainment, the song was released on May 16. Since then, it has been enjoying strong rotation both locally and overseas.

"I can't complain about the feedback this song is receiving. It's getting rotation in several territories including the Caribbean, the US, England, Africa and Europe. Based on the response it's getting, I'm confident that it will be my breakthrough single," he said.

KQualiti is also working on his debut EP, Stronger, which is slated to be released before the end of the year.

"Everything is coming together nicely with this project. So far, we've recorded some great songs. The EP should be completed and ready for release very soon."

KQualiti, given name Shakir Campbell, launched his recording career in 2018, with the release of a single titled Quick Cash, produced by Michael Reynolds and released on the Sekhimaj Records imprint.
