KaKa Highflames and Lyriii to ignite Purple Slush in St Thomas
Viral Internet sensation KaKa Highflames and rising child star Lyriii will headline this year's staging of Purple Slush, a family fun day, set for Colonel Cove in Morant Bay, St Thomas, this Saturday.
Kaka, whose given name is Omario Brown, is known for creating viral dance challenges on TikTok. His growing catalogue features energetic dance tracks such as Drop It, Tun It Up, and Flamez Party.
He has also dropped tracks such as Slingshot, which became a hit among the Gen Z audience, and Flamez Rock, which was a banger.
Similarly, Lyriii, a 15-year-old rising star, has been making waves with his viral track, Respect.
A cherished family-oriented event, Purple Slush is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Patrons will also be treated to performances from the Hilarious Granny and Kemarch Dodd, widely regarded as Jamaica's number-one magician. But according to event organiser Talisa Taylor, this Saturday is more than just fun and games.
"Purple Slush has never just been about amusement; it has always been about impact. For 10 years, we've consistently supported St Thomas families through our charity work, school supply donations, and empowering events. As the parish undergoes physical transformation and economic growth, it is vital that we continue to nurture and uplift the people behind that progress," she said.
Taylor described Purple Slush as a "celebration of the heart and soul of St Thomas". Rooted in the spirit of giving back, the event has been used as a platform for the awarding of scholarships to high-performing students and the provision of assistance to individuals facing economic hardship.
"This 10-year journey has been truly rewarding. Our mission has always been to offer premium family entertainment in a clean and secure space, while ensuring our children receive meaningful support," Taylor said.
