Rik Jam completes first US tour

July 08, 2025

Singer Rik Jam completed his first headlining tour of the US recently.

The Stadium Gardens-raised recording artiste was supported by recording artiste Dalwayne, who was the opening act for all the shows.

"It's been a great feeling to be able to headline on my first tour. It's truly a groundbreaking experience and I look forward to more experiences like this in the near future," said Rik Jam. He did 30 shows, including the Cali Roots 2025 Festival, Havana Reggae Festival, Austin Reggae Festival, as well as shows in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and California.

Rik Jam, whose given name is Ronaldo Ricketts, said the experience of the tour taught him a lot.

"I learnt that reggae music is life, and we should appreciate it a lot more. The love that is shown by our supporters made me understand better, that good music is still needed in the world now more than ever. That's why the hard work and passion never fades," Rik Jam said.

He performed songs including Journey, Beautiful and Ready Fi Dem in his set on the shows. A remix of Journey was recently released, and his new single, titled Stereo, which features Eric Rachmany of the Grammy-nominated American reggae band Rebelution, is next in line.

Rik Jam, who is originally from Fletchers Land in Kingston, joined the choir at his alma mater, St Andrew Technical High School, where he honed his musical and vocal chops.
