‘Spend Time’ - Bolt and Sasco urge fans to treasure loved ones
Retired track icon turned music producer Usain Bolt says his recently produced single, Spend Time, by Agent Sasco served as a timely reminder of the importance of treasuring the moments shared with your loved ones.
The song was released on June 27, nearly three months after his father, Wellesley, died.
"It's just like, the energy of the universe caused Sasco to come up with this song at a time like this ... after losing my dad," Bolt told THE WEEKEND STAR.
"It really emphasises the importance of just spending time with our loved ones. Cherish every moment with your loved ones. You can't buy time, just spend time and cherish your loved ones, you don't have to have anything to give to them... just spend time," Bolt said.
Spend Time is Bolt's first production since his father's death and one he says carries deep meaning. The song delivers uplifting messages wrapped in Agent Sasco's signature lyrical prowess, encouraging listeners to prioritise time and connection over material things.
Backed by Bolt's A-Team Lifestyle record label, the song's production is crisp and soulful -- a fusion of thoughtful mixing, emotive instrumentals, and a timeless reggae rhythm that pulses through each verse. Bolt said the entire team is proud of what they have accomplished.
"We wanted to make a wholesome reggae song that would resonate with the public. Each of us spend time going after our goals daily, remaining motivated is a must, and this song is one of those anthems that complements the melodic beat," Bolt said.
The collaboration came about after Bolt's business partner and executive manager, Nugent 'NJ' Walker, ran into Agent Sasco at Big Yard studios. Walker invited the deejay to listen to some beats, and the rest, as they say, is history.
"Sasco is a detail-oriented person and we really appreciate it. He pays a lot of attention to detail, resulting in this amazing record - Spend Time. He really took the time to make sure it was done right," Bolt underscored.
"Sasco is a true master at his craft. We fully support our Jamaican music genre and really feel good when the cream of the crop records with us," the A-Team Lifestyle boss added.
