Dancehall young giant Armanii had the ladies in a trance after delivering his lyrically seductive tracks, backed by continuous screams and cheers at the first staging of the Guinness Pull Up event last Friday at Stadium East Car Park.

Bouncing his way on stage to the rhythmic beat of his global hit single Haad (Fiesta), Armanii was further hyped up by a railing crowd cooing to every word of the song.

After instructing the ladies to "bounce, shake" and gyrate to some of his popular 'ladies anthems', THE STAR team caught up with the pulsating singjay, who said he always desired for his music to reach this level.

"Di energy was great and the vibe was nice but di light dem bright man," he said with a laugh. "The crowd's reception was really great. The people dem forward out fi party, suh wi just gi dem a vibe yuh nuh."

"If a dat dem seh, a dat wi a work wid, enuh. Anything di girl dem seh a law," he shared with a smile.

Guinness Pull Up was a partnership between Romeich Major's marketing production, Major Marketing, and Red Stripe, featuring the Guinness brand. It brought together a diverse vibe of electrifying music, predominantly dancehall, to the heart of music lovers from home and abroad. A friendly tune-for-tune session between two sounds was also incorporated to drive home Guinness' reputation in keeping the sound clash culture alive, while also adding to the 'street' element of dancehall during the street dance, sound system era.

For Armanii, this creative concept which also allows for a merger between foundation and emerging talents is a "great look for dancehall".

"Everything weh dancehall a gwaan wid right now is a great look. Suh any enhancement dancehall can get will always be a good push and mi feel proud fi know seh mi did a part of it suh big up to Guinness," he said, adding that live stage events help artistes to hone their crafts.

"A mi favourite aspect dat addi music - the live performance. Growing up around whole heap a sounds, bands and inna di church, yuh know seh dat ago be one a mi favourite part a music and mi always ago appreciate and encourage dat," he stated. Armanii was one of the featured acts alongside Govana. Delomar was also featured as a special guest, who kicked off the live show with a high-energy performance.

Music lovers from as far as the Czech Republic said the "authentic" vibe that street dance era of dancehall music creates speaks more to the heart-warming culture and atmosphere the country is known for.

"For me. It's 100 per cent dancehall. Even when I'm back home, I might listen a little soca but it's mostly dancehall," Karla Najvertova told THE STAR. "We are enjoying everything honestly, we love Jamaica and we are coming back because every time there is something new or some changes and we really love to see the growth for Jamaica and [its] music. It's also warming our hearts because we love dancehall and dancehall is Jamaica."

"We love the music and its events and also the nature here [at Guinness Pull Up] is so beautiful. We just came to Jamaica but we're already enjoying our time here a lot and we're looking forward to more fun," her friend, Adriana Matejna, chimed in.

Rowena McDonald, a Jamaican who now resides in Massachusetts, USA, said she was immersed in the "nostalgia" that the musical selections and overall energy brought.

"I'm here to turn up," she said with a laugh. "I just want to have a good time and to have fun, big up Guinness. From I was little bit, I was always a hardcore dancehall lover before I [move] to the US. I just love the vibe and energy from it and here in this space tonight, is just nostalgic," McDonald told THE STAR, adding that the show can "bring back that dancehall vibes to dancehall".
