Creating a soothing musical balance with an international R&B/dancehall flow, dancehall superstars Valiant, Kranium and Nigy Boy have infused a melodic lyrical single, titled Vancleef, which Nigy Boy described as a "powerful song" that he believes will have "longevity".

The singjay who has been steadily climbing the international ladder, said he was "ecstatic" about getting a step closer to being globally recognised by scoring this deal alongside two internationally-acclaimed artistes.

"A Vali (Valiant) link me seh him wudda want duh some work wid mi and mi seh 'Yea man, simple maths.' Him seh him have supm him waah send come gimmie and mi tek a listen and mi like it, suh mi put a verse pon it and send it back guh give him. At the time, mi neva know seh a [DJ] Mac project, but Vali replied and seh 'Dis bad, dis bad.' Then about three weeks later mi get back a file and mi see Kranium pon it and mi seh 'Oh s**t, dis bad," Nigy Boy recollected. He said he didn't know the song would be a part of an album.

"But when I realise, really and truly, I was ecstatic because I don't think it's an easy thing to get a collab with Kranium and the fact that was something I was able to accomplish, even though it wasn't by my design - it happened and I'm very grateful for it. For me, it is a major accomplishment and I'm extremely grateful for it because who knows what next can happen because of that one collab - all sort of doors can be opened now," he said.

Vancleef is featured on popular producer DJ Mac's recent debut album titled Ups and Downs. DJ Mac described it as a "personal" compilation of work from artistes with whom he shared a musical "chemistry" and helped to work their way up to the limelight. Ups and Downs was released on June 5 and also features artistes such as Byron Messia, Chronic Law, Christopher Martin and Voice.

Seeping through on the hardcore musical scene with a calm, soothing vibe while still balancing a strong dancehall and international appeal, Nigy Boy admitted he was hooked to the sound from the onset.

"That's what made me fell in love with it when I heard it at first. Mi a seh 'Yeah, dis has the potential to span the globe'. Then when mi guh hear the Kranium part ship in, I said 'Oh sh*t, this is next level,'" said Nigy Boy, adding that his representation on the track was definitely aimed to "soothe the ladies".

"I live for the ladies so I had to make sure that they receive something with substance," he laughed. "But on a serious note, the way how the song sound, me just waah leave it to time and see how it grows on the people...it's a powerful song." He also lauded DJ Mac for making his mark as a producer "who push and collaborate with the young generation while incorporating more established, reputable artistes to help unite dancehall on a whole".

DJ Mac said his role as an artiste manager/producer with the younger Gen Z artistes in dancehall has proven to be his true calling for creating hits.

"Mi just feel like mi relate more to dem and mi nuh really overthink the process. Yuh see di older yuh get, yuh waah fi overthink more and waah fi please people when yuh fi just mek di artistes be demselves and a dat mi kinda allow. But mi always a tell people seh mi nuh have no luck wid big [established] artistes," he chuckled. DJ Mac is widely known for producing chart-hitting tracks with artistes such as Chronic Law, Armanii, Pablo YG, Kraff, Bayka, Valiant and Ayetian.

Meanwhile, as he gears up to take on a slew of shows in the US, Nigy Boy said fans can brace for several other upcoming international collaborations with various acts from several musical genres.
